First off I would like to introduce my self.

Your guide, Rusty Miller, is now living in Redwood Falls, MN, I moved my business on 9-07 from Crookston MN.  Fishing since a small boy.  Introduced to catfish and river fishing in 1994, when I first moved to Crookston MN, and was hooked ever since.  What started out as a casual hobby has become an obsession for the love of the outdoors in which led me to start the guiding business in 1999, so I could share my love for the sport with others.  Since then I have written many articles for magazines, done sport shows, fishing seminars, TV shows and tournaments all over the area.

My love for fishing began when I was very young as most.  Heading out to the small lakes around the Blackduck, Bemidji area with my family.  I grew up fishing pike, walleye, and pan fish.  I graduated up to river fishing when I moved to Crookston MN in 1994.  I was board one day and grabbed my walleye rod, tackle box and some bait and headed down to the river hoping to catch something.  It was not long and I had something on the line that was refusing to come visit me on shore.  I was starting to think that I had a real mountable fish on the hook.  Well needless to say when I landed this awesome 2-3 pound catfish, I was disappointed and amazed at the same time.  This thing put up a fight like most large pike I was used to catching.  My adventures continued along with the breaking of most of my good light action rods as I graduated up to Med-Heavy rods, 50# line and hooks bigger than I ever thought I would ever use for fish in my life.

Sorry for the mess, I have moved to Redwood Falls MN.  I will be continuing my guiding in that area on the Minnesota River.   Channel cats and Flathead Cats.  Stay tuned for more information.

 Best fishing times are Late May-August.   Some good fall fishing is also available depending on water levels and temps.  Early spring fishing can be a real good time also.  Catfishing is open all year, however they are not very aggressive when the water temps drop below 50*.

Get ready and make plans for a great time.

 We had an Ice fishing contest, Hovercraft rides, dog sled rides, Kids sledding contests, Snowmobile radar runs, Spaghetti dinner, Banquet, Raffels, door prizes, silent auctions and Dance all in one day.  Prizes are awesome and fun for all.  The weather was pretty darn good and we had an awesome turn out.  Three fish were caught from noon to 3:00.   Biggest fish was a 2 LB 5.5 oz Walleye. 

This years prizes for the fishing contest:

1st place.. Otter Wilderness Series Walleye two man fish house with all the accessories. 

2nd place.. Jiffy 2hp, 8" ice auger white lightning. 

3rd place..Marcum VS350 under water camera.  First fish caught trophy, and smallest fish caught trophy.  See Bigger is not always better.

Tickets are $15.00 and that will get you in the fishing contest, Spaghetti dinner, door prizes and dance. 

Time is Noon to 3:00pm at Central Park, Crookston MN.  Registration starts at 11:00am.  Every one then can head out to the Northland Inn at 5:00pm to start the banquet and prizes and dance.

3rd Annual ICE BUSTER DAZE, Feb. 11, 2006.

  This years results.  Huge thank you to KROX AM , Crookston Times, Wildfire photography, and all local businesses that contributed prizes.

103 tickets sold.  83 fishermen on the ice.  It was great to see all the kids involved. from One year old on up.  Again, every one left with door prizes.!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st place with a 1.71 lb Muskie, Stacy Evitts.  Jiffy Ice Auger 10" 3ph.

2nd place with a .73 lb Sauger, Josh Webber.  Shappell fish house 4X6.

3rd place drawing Dave Webber.  Garmin Hand held GPS.

Radar runs went over great.   67 entries, and 5 ATVs.  Top speed was 86mph.  farthest contestant was from Twin cities.

Kids sledding contest was a big success.  Andy Webber took first and Vincent Ross took second.

Hovercraft and dog sled rides were a big hit.  over 50 riders took part.

2nd annual ICE BUSTER DAZE.  Jan 29th.   We had an awesome turn out with 85 fishermen and 8 fish caught this year and several of them were Muskies, believe it or not.  !!!!! Again every one left with door prizes.
